Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is seeking a Die Cut Machine Operator to operate die cutting equipment and produce quality components according to established production processes and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate die cutting equipment to produce die cut components according to documented processes and specifications.
- Maintain 100% compliance with equipment-related production systems, processes, and safety requirements.
- Set up jobs according to documented setup procedures and maintain production samples for traceability.
- Perform part inspections to ensure required quality standards and metrics are met.
- Support efficient production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing principles and participate in scheduled Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and report quality issues or nonconforming products to the Quality team.
- Help contain potentially nonconforming product and complete required documentation.
- Perform daily press maintenance as assigned and report mechanical issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Record completed equipment maintenance in the appropriate press maintenance log.
- Clean and maintain tooling according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Complete required documentation for tooling repairs and report damaged tooling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace, including press surfaces, materials, and carts.
- Follow documented press practices, warning labels, and other safety procedures.
- Work with team members to resolve problems and recommend improvements to products and processes.
- Complete required production, quality, and performance documentation.
- Attend work and return from breaks according to scheduled shift times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating die cutting equipment strongly preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow documented processes and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
- Computer proficiency, including basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP or production reporting systems preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF/TS 16949 standards is a plus.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and accountability.
