Coil Winder, $21/hr – Troy, MI
Are you looking for a stable career in manufacturing with great pay and growth potential? We are seeking a Coil Winder in Troy, MI. The Coil Winder will be responsible for operating coil-winding machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring high-quality components for transformers.
Shift & Schedule:
- Monday – Friday | 5:30am-2pm
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to read tape measure markings down to 1/16th of an inch
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Forklift operation certification preferred, not required
- Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and measurements
- Prior experience operating brake press or punch press
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Read, comprehend, and follow work orders and blueprints to determine required materials and parts
- Operate coil-winding machines to wind wire, copper foil, and sheet coils used in transformer production
- Use overhead cranes to safely move completed components off machines
- Operate hand tools, power tools, shears, saws, winding machines, brakes, and punches
- Read and interpret winding diagrams and specifications
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Maintain clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols
