Forklift Operator/Material Handler
Location: Decatur Michigan
Shift: 1st shift Mon-Thursday 6am-4pm
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Job Summary
Are you a Material Handler that ideally is experienced with forklift driving and it comfortable with long and or heavy loads? We’re seeking a Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our team in Decatur, MI. This is a job for someone who takes pride in precision and doesn't mind being on the move. If you like variety, want daily forklift seat time, and enjoy being the person production counts on to keep things stocked and organized, this is your kind of work.
As a Brake Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
• Load and unload materials from company vehicles, moving them safely to and from storage racks
• Use our dedicated part numbering system to place materials accurately on loading docks, pallet racking, and inventory shelves
• Work directly with production departments each day to confirm material needs and deliver what's required, when it's required
• Pull inventory in preparation for deliveries and help keep stock levels where they need to be
• Communicate with suppliers to order materials and flag inventory that should be scrapped
• Operate a forklift daily — along with a man lift, and overhead crane as needed
Follow safety procedures to protect yourself and your teammates
Qualifications:
• A forklift license is required (don't have one yet? We'll provide the test — just bring the willingness to learn)
• A valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfort with basic hand tools and safe lifting practices
• Solid math skills — fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions used in real, practical ways
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
• A professional attitude, especially when working with customers and suppliers
• Flexibility to rotate into other roles/departments as production needs shift
