General Laborer – Floater

Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Pay: $15.00–$20.00+ per hour, based on experience

Job Summary

Are you a versatile, hands-on worker looking for an opportunity to put your manufacturing skills to work? We're seeking a General Laborer – Floater to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. In this role, you'll support various areas of the manufacturing operation by assisting with machine operation, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and other production tasks as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

As a General Laborer – Floater, your core responsibilities will include:
-Machine Operation: Operate various machines and equipment to support daily manufacturing operations and assist wherever production needs require.
-Fabrication & Assembly: Assist with the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of products according to work instructions and quality standards.
-Material Handling: Help move and handle materials as needed while supporting efficient workflow throughout the facility.
-In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, collaborate with team members, and help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Qualifications:
  • Experience operating machines or performing general labor in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and support different areas of production
  • Ability to stand, lift, and move materials throughout the workday
Skills:
-Versatility: Ability to adapt to different assignments and assist wherever production needs require.
-Machine Operation: Comfortable operating various manufacturing machines and equipment while following established procedures and safety requirements.
-Teamwork: Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively to help keep production moving.
-Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues, follow instructions, and use sound judgment when completing assigned tasks.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position in an industrial environment. The role may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and physical demands including standing, lifting, and moving materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided.
