Industrial Electrician Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 1st shift Pay: $30/Hour Are you an experienced electrician who enjoys wiring and installing custom, high-precision machinery? We're seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. This position involves wiring, installing, and assembling electrical systems for custom automation equipment and state-of-the-art machines. What You'll Be DoingAs an Industrial Electrician, your core responsibilities will include:Electrical installation: Install cable ways and electrical components according to project requirements. Blueprint reading: Read and follow wiring drawings, electrical schematics, and other technical documentation. Wiring & termination: Route and terminate wiring accurately according to schematics and specifications. Service panels: Assemble and wire electrical service panels. Drive enclosures: Assemble and wire equipment drive enclosures. Control consoles: Assemble and wire machine and robot control consoles. Equipment operation: Use necessary hand tools and motorized equipment, including forklifts, as required. Code compliance: Maintain current knowledge of applicable NEC, ANSI, OSHA, and other government codes related to the position. Communication: Keep supervisors and team members informed of project progress, problems, and changes. Training: Actively assist with training needs within the department. Safety: Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe and organized work environment. Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional manner while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Overtime: Be willing to work overtime when required. What We're Looking For QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience wiring automation equipment. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical wiring and installation. Experience reading and following wiring drawings and schematics. Knowledge of 120/240/480V 3-phase systems, motors, and controllers preferred. Reliable transportation. Willingness to work overtime when required. SkillsAttention to detail: Takes pride in quality workmanship and accurate electrical assembly. Electrical knowledge: Understanding of industrial electrical systems, motors, controllers, and three-phase power. Blueprint reading: Able to accurately interpret wiring drawings, schematics, and technical information. Communication: Able to clearly communicate progress, problems, and changes with supervisors and team members. Organization: Keeps tools, materials, and work areas clean and organized. Problem solving: Able to identify and address wiring and assembly issues. Teamwork: Works effectively with others and is willing to assist with department training.
