Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate for an Installer/ Fabricator role in Allendale. As an Installer/ Fabricator, you will oversee and guide the installation of industrial sheet metal products in various environments. This role requires both leadership and technical skills, as you will be working hands-on to ensure projects are completed to specification and within deadlines, while also mentoring and managing a team of installers. If you enjoy hands-on work and have a passion for sheet metal installation, this is the role for you. All candidates must be comfortable with traveling in a group to and from the worksite.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery
Cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, and straighten sheet metal to meet specifications
Assemble, install, and secure sheet metal products in commercial and industrial settings
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accuracy in fabrication and installation
Perform welding, riveting, and soldering as required for sheet metal joints and parts
Ensure that all fabricated parts meet quality and safety standards
Install and secure sheet metal products according to specifications, ensuring a precise fit
Travel to job sites for installations, with potential for 50-75% travel time
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper care and functionality
Work closely with project managers and team members to meet deadlines and client specifications
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during fabrication or installation
Assist with the training and mentoring of new team members
Key Qualifications
2+ years of previous experience in sheet metal installation or related work
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work specifications
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Willingness to travel for the duration of the job (50-75% travel required)
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Experience with welding and fabricating sheet metal
Preferred Skills
Previous experience with HVAC systems
Experience with metal fabrication machinery
Strong use of mathematics
