Machine Operator  (Mill)

Location:  Detroit, MI  Shift:  1st Shift  Pay:  $18.00 per hour

Job Summary

We're seeking a dependable and safety-focused  Machine Operator  to join a growing manufacturing team in Detroit, MI. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating production equipment, monitoring product quality, mixing and processing materials, and supporting daily manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, machine operation, or forklift experience looking to grow with a stable company. Based on client-provided duties, this role involves operating immersion mills, mixing coatings, handling raw materials, and maintaining production schedules.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Machine Operation:  Operate production equipment and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced according to specifications and production schedules.
  • Material Processing:  Add raw materials to batches, mix products according to work instructions, and assist with processing materials throughout production.
  • Production Support:  Maintain production records, transport materials using forklifts, and ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
In addition, you will monitor production times and temperatures, assist with material handling, perform basic equipment cleaning, maintain workstation logs, and support other manufacturing duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work on your feet for the duration of the workday.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Skills:
  • Attention to Detail:  Ability to follow production instructions and maintain quality standards.
  • Mechanical Aptitude:  Comfortable working around production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Organization:  Ability to maintain accurate records and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Communication:  Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members.
  • Reliability:  Strong attendance and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
