Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Shift: 1st Shift   7:00 am – 5:00 pm 
Pay:  $20.00+ per hour Based on Experience 

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Machine Operator / Millwork Production Associate to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating specialized woodworking and millwork machinery to cut, route, bore, shape, and prepare lumber and wood components according to production specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with woodworking equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Machine Operator / Millwork Production Associate, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Set up and operate specialized woodworking equipment, including door routers, stair routers, saws, planers, jointers, shapers, and component cutting machinery
  • Select and adjust machine settings, guides, blades, and tooling based on work orders and production specifications
  • Choose appropriate materials for production, including lumber, doors, beams, headers, studs, plates, blocks, and other wood components
  • Measure and verify product dimensions using rulers, squares, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met
  • Cut, route, bore, groove, bevel, miter, and shape wood products according to written instructions and computerized specifications
  • Label completed products accurately for identification and order fulfillment
  • Load and unload materials from machinery and transport completed products to designated staging areas or workstations
  • Maintain accurate production records, counts, and work order documentation
  • Prepare and organize inventory of cut materials for future production needs
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment, workstations, and surrounding work areas
  • Follow all company quality control procedures and safety guidelines
  • Assist with material handling, shipping preparation, and other production-related duties as assigned
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment when certified and authorized
 
What We're Looking For
 
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months of machine operation experience required
  • At least 1 year of experience in millwork, woodworking, lumber, manufacturing, or construction environments preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and operate multiple types of machinery
  • Understanding of millwork products, lumber materials, and production components
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • CDL Class A or B is a plus, where applicable
  • Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment  requires  standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
  • Comfortable working around moving machinery and production equipment
  • Ability to perform work in a loud industrial environment while following all required safety procedures
