JOB TITLE DEPARTMENT CREATED Quality Engineer Quality 02/21/24 POSITION DESCRIPTION Support position with primary activities being the development and management of facility Advanced Product Quality Planning and PPAP process. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and implement the customer and internal requirements of process manuals and quality standards f.or takeover tooling, including updates/changes resulting from engineering changes. Work closely with the Quality Technician in the development of the decision making documents to be used i.n the manufacturing process. Lead the development process of the Process FMEA’s. Initiate customer or internal, sample submission activities for transfer tool program. Manage Product drawings from receipt to file location/current revision. Coordinate the development of information supporting sample submission activities, such as: G. age R&R studies; Dimensional Layout(s); Capability Studies; Laboratory Material Testing; Performance Testing; Fit and function. Obtain and verify compliance of submitted documentation of internal process/inspection plans, measurement results and capability studies. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and apply Corrective Action process, as required. Offer support and guidance as needed to the Quality Technician to manage and administer measurement .equipment calibration activities as required. Manage annual customer product revalidations as required. Obtain and verify submission documentation from suppliers, as required. Support customer requirements - customer visits. Assist in development, organization, and maintenance of the quality reporting system. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Internal scrap to include ppm reporting activities and associated top contributor b. readksowns on an effective basis; Customer product rejections to include daily ppm reporting activities and a. ssocated top contributor breakdowns on an effective basis. Coordinate the development of information supporting production part approval submission activities, such as: D. imensional layouts; Capability studies. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Associates degree from a college or university or a minimum of two years quality engineering experience or a. n equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in personal computer use and network operation. Ability to read, interpret documents, communicated effectively across all levels, and present information t.o various group. Ability at math, percentages, proportions, and basic statistics. Ability to manage problem-solving activities. Ability to apply logic to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. This position works closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product and tooling process. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement customer and internal requirements for process manuals and quality standards related to takeover tooling. Maintain and update quality documentation as engineering changes occur. Work closely with the Quality Technician to develop decision-making documents used in the manufacturing process. Lead the development of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs). Initiate and coordinate customer and internal sample submission activities for transfer tooling programs. Manage product drawings from receipt through proper filing and revision control. Coordinate documentation and activities supporting sample submissions, including:Gage R&R studies Dimensional layouts Capability studies Laboratory material testing Performance testing Fit and function testing Obtain and verify internal process and inspection plans, measurement results, capability studies, and other required documentation. Maintain and apply the corrective action process as needed. Support and provide guidance to the Quality Technician with measurement equipment calibration activities. Manage annual customer product revalidations. Obtain and verify required quality documentation from suppliers. Support customer requirements and customer visits. Assist with the development, organization, and maintenance of the quality reporting system. Monitor and report internal scrap, including PPM reporting and analysis of top contributors. Monitor and report customer product rejections, including daily PPM reporting and analysis of top contributors. Coordinate the development of information required for production part approval submissions, including dimensional layouts and capability studies. Qualifications & Requirements Associate degree from a college or university or a minimum of two years of Quality Engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in personal computer use and network operations. Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to present information to various groups. Strong understanding of mathematics, percentages, proportions, and basic statistics. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
