Slitter Operator Helper, up to $20/hr - Shelby Twp, MI
Are you looking for a full time opportunity to get hired into a great company? Do you have experience working in a steel manufacturing environment? Do you have experience working on steel slitters as an operator or helper? If so, look no further!
Qualifications:
Identify different grades of steel
Assemble separator arms
Identify problems or defects as steel is rewound on recoiler
Remove coils from recoiler
Apply OD bands to coils
Document cut #, coil dimensions and heat # on each coil.
Responsible for work area being kept clean and orderly.
Report any quality concerns, including stopping production to prevent a nonconformance, to the immediate supervisor.
Skills:
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must possess basic reading, writing and math skills
Related Equipment:
Equipment associated with loading and unloading coils
Banding equipment
Slitter separator arms
Overhead Crane
Micrometer
Caliper
Tape Measure
A day in the life at this company for this position consists of showing up and working 5am-3pm, Monday through Friday. In this position, you’d be responsible for helping in the operation of steel slitters. Must have some knowledge of steel manufacturing.
