Toaster/Sheeter- Grand Rapids
Workbox Staffing is hiring Machine Operators in Grand Rapids.
Work at a local tortilla chip manufacturer monitoring the machines to ensure proper consistency of the product.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Set up and start the sheeter machine
- Adjust banding on machine as needed
- Adjust toaster/fryer controls
- Perform product quality checks
- Adhere to GMP guidelines
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred, 1-3 months related experience required
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with the team in English
- Must have knowledge and experience with a weigh scale
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs max (on rare occasion)
- Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply)
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout entire shift
- Must be able to work with a team
The primary function of this position is to monitor the sheeting and toasting process of the masa and perform weight-checks and make necessary adjustments to ensure the proper consistency of the product in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for operating the toaster oven and sheeter that cuts the chips.
Need to use tools to change bands when they break, adjust the settings on the machines, go up and down stairs to check weights on a scale and complete paperwork reflecting the weights.
Environment is hot as you will be working in the area where the toaster ovens are as well as the fryers.
