Job Title: MechanicReports to: In the event this individual is not on-site the Manager, Maintenance will be responsible for the Food Safety and Food Quality program. The Manager, Maintenance will be responsible for food safety and food quality checks, in the event the Mechanic is not on site. POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based out of our Sparta, Michigan location. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing plant equipment. Perform PMs, and complete work orders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:
Maintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
Perform skilled repair services of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment
Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair
Identify parts needed for replacement and place orders as necessary
Supervise the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of switches, cables, and other equipment to ensure optimum usage and quality
Ensure compliance with company requirements
Schedule and coordinate installation support and service operations
Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures
Accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for their position
Encouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position
Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
Three years of mechanic experience
A high school diploma or equivalent
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
Must have excellent time management skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the food/beverage industry a plus
Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment a plus
Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.

Weekend Maintenance Technician
Location: Sparta, MI Shift: 1st Shift – Friday, Saturday & Sunday Pay: $23.00 per hour
Job Summary
Are you an experienced maintenance professional looking for a weekend opportunity? We're seeking a Weekend Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Weekend Maintenance Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Maintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components while performing skilled repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Troubleshooting & Inspections: Conduct periodic inspections, evaluate repair needs, identify replacement parts, and troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain reliable operations.
Installation & Service: Support and coordinate equipment installations, maintenance, testing, and repairs, including switches, cables, and other equipment to ensure proper operation and quality.
In addition, you will order replacement parts as needed, ensure all work is completed according to established safety procedures, and follow company requirements and regulatory standards.

Previous maintenance or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery and building systems.
