1st Shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 am – 10:00 am
2nd Shift Monday – Friday 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 am – 10:00 am
Pay: $18.00+per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual brake press equipment to produce precision-formed metal components according to customer specifications and engineering drawings. The ideal candidate is quality-focused, mechanically inclined, and committed to safety while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Metal Parts Cleaner/ Finisher, your core responsibilities will include:
Set up and operate CNC and manual brake press machines to bend and form metal components
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules
Select appropriate tooling and machine settings based on material type, thickness, and job requirements
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify dimensions and quality requirements
Use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, squares, angle gauges, and other inspection equipment
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and efficiency
Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications and quality standards
Safely handle raw materials and completed parts using lifting devices and material handling equipment
Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards
Collaborate with laser, welding, finishing, and fabrication teams to support production goals
In addition, you may also be requested to help with manual material handling, packaging, and other production duties as needed in the warehouse to accomplish company goals and deadlines.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications/ Skill Sets:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience operating CNC brake presses, press brakes, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documentation
Working knowledge of metal forming practices, tooling selection, and machine setup
Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, tape measures, protractors, and angle gauges
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Forklift experience or certification is a plus
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks
Visual ability to inspect parts and verify measurements
Ability to safely work around moving machinery, automated equipment, and material handling systems
Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
