Switch Truck Driver/ Material Handler

Up to $21/hr

We are looking for a reliable Switch Truck Driver & Material Handler to safely move trailers, materials, and products throughout the facility and yard. This role combines driving a switch truck to move trailers in and out of dock doors with material handling tasks inside the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
● Operate a switch truck/yard spotter to safely move trailers to and from loading docks and yard locations.
● Ensure trailers are properly positioned, locked, and secure before loading/unloading.
● Perform daily inspections of switch truck and report maintenance needs.
● Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
● Maintain accurate records of trailer moves, material transfers, and inventory as directed.
● Follow all safety procedures and comply with company policies and DOT regulations.
● Communicate with warehouse staff, shipping/receiving, and dispatch to coordinate trailer and material movement.
● Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience as a switch truck/yard jockey driver preferred.
● Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus but not required (depending on employer).
● Experience with forklifts or material handling equipment strongly preferred.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
● Strong communication and teamwork skills.
● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions when moving trailers.
