Production MIG Welder Location: Byron Center, MI Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 am – 10:00 am 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 am – 10:00 am Pay: $18.00+per hour Based on Experience Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role supports a wide range of precision metal fabrication projects serving diverse industries. Based on the company's capabilities, work may involve fabricated assemblies, frames, fixtures, and other custom metal products. What You'll Be Doing As a Metal Parts Cleaner/ Finisher, your core responsibilities will include: Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components as required Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions Set up, fit, and assemble components prior to welding Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools and inspection equipment Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications Grind, clean, and finish welded parts as needed Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, drills, and other shop tools Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance checks Identify and report quality concerns, defective materials, or equipment issues Work closely with fabrication, laser, forming, and finishing departments to support production goals Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements In addition, you may also be requested to help with manual material handling, packaging, and other production duties as needed in the warehouse to accomplish company goals and deadlines. What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have the following: Qualifications/ Skill Sets: High school diploma or GED preferred Previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols Working knowledge of fabrication practices, measuring tools, and quality inspection techniques Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Forklift experience or certification is a plus Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks Manual dexterity required to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment Visual ability to inspect weld quality, measurements, and finished products Ability to safely work around welding equipment, fabrication machinery, moving equipment, and material handling systems Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear Commitment to following all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards Why Join Us?
