Mill Set Up Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 2nd shift Pay:$16+/Hour Are you mechanically inclined and looking to grow your skills in a manufacturing environment? We're seeking a Mill Set Up candidate to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. This position involves assembling and fabricating mechanical parts and components using a variety of tools and equipment according to specifications.Willing to train the right candidate!What You'll Be DoingAs a Mill Set Up, your core responsibilities will include:Prepare materials: Review assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists; gather the necessary parts, tools, and materials.
Assembly: Position and assemble parts and subassemblies using templates, measurements, and proper fastening techniques.
Quality control: Measure completed components to verify they meet required specifications and make adjustments as needed.
Problem solving: Identify and resolve assembly issues by adjusting dimensions and communicating with supervisors when additional resources are needed.
Equipment operation: Operate equipment such as drill presses, slabbers, and saws. Perform basic troubleshooting and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed.
Deburring: Debur parts and components as required.
Preventive maintenance: Help maintain equipment by following manufacturer instructions and completing required maintenance procedures.
Inventory: Monitor supplies and notify leadership when additional materials or supplies are needed.
Documentation: Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
Safety: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company procedures, rules, and regulations.
Teamwork: Work cooperatively with team members and assist with other related duties as needed.
What We're Looking ForQualifications1–2 years of assembly experience preferred.
Experience with deburring, drill presses, slabbers, and saws preferred.
Willingness to learn and be trained.
Ability to follow direction from foremen and 2nd shift leaders.
Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, measurements, and specifications.
High School Diploma or GED
SkillsMechanical aptitude: Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and mechanical components.
Attention to detail: Able to assemble parts quickly and accurately while following specifications.
Problem solving: Able to identify assembly issues and make appropriate adjustments.
Teamwork: Works well with supervisors and coworkers in a production environment.
Willingness to learn: Open to training and developing new manufacturing skills.
