Extrusion Press Operator
Location: Livonia, MI Shift: 3rd Shift Pay: $17.00 per hour
Job Summary
We're seeking a dependable Extrusion Press Operator to join a manufacturing team in Livonia, MI. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating extrusion press equipment, monitoring production quality, completing production documentation, and supporting the extrusion process from start to finish. This position works in a manufacturing environment that can involve extreme temperatures and requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Extrusion Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
Press Operation: Operate extrusion press equipment and associated furnace systems according to production schedules and work instructions.
Quality Inspection: Measure and inspect extruded products using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.
Production Documentation: Enter production data, maintain accurate records, and complete required production paperwork.
In addition, you will review work orders, verify dies and oven temperatures, stretch extrusions as needed, maintain a safe work environment, and perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing experience required.
Ability to read and use measuring tools such as tape measures and squares.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Skills:
Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable operating manufacturing equipment and following production procedures.
Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect products and document measurements accurately.
Safety Awareness: Commitment to following all PPE and safety requirements.
Reliability: Excellent attendance and work ethic.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with supervisors and production personnel.
