Job Summary:
As an Experienced Plastic Technician (Level 2) at Bissell, you will play a critical role in the plastics department, responsible for setting up and operating plastic injection molding machines, as well as performing maintenance and repair tasks to ensure optimal machine performance.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines, including loading and unloading molds, setting machine parameters, and monitoring production
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machines, replacing worn parts, and performing preventive maintenance tasks
Troubleshoot machine issues, identifying and resolving problems to minimize downtime
Collaborate with other technicians and production staff to achieve efficient and safe production operations
Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
Train and mentor junior technicians as needed
Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, repairs, and production data
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Must have strong mechanical aptitude
Understands blueprints and technical drawings
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Requires fluent use of English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Skills
1-2 years of experience in Plastic injection molding
Previous Die Setting experience
Previous Quality Control experience
Basic math skills
