Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is seeking an experienced
Acme Screw Machine Setup Technician & Operator
to join our manufacturing team. In this enhanced role, you will be responsible for the
complete setup, operation, adjustments, and maintenance
of Acme multi-spindle screw machines. Your expertise will ensure efficient production, precision accuracy, and continuous workflow improvement on the shop floor.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Acme Screw Machine Setup Technician & Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing full machine setups , including tooling installation, machine adjustments, collet changes, and verifying proper alignment.
- Operating Acme multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal components to blueprint and specification requirements.
- Making real-time adjustments to tooling, feeds, speeds, and cams to optimize machine performance and maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Conducting in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshooting mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production output.
- Completing routine and preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Documenting setup parameters, production notes, and quality checks as required.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with team members to enhance machining efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience operating and setting up Acme or similar multi-spindle screw machines
- Strong background in machine setup, tooling changes, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling functions, and production workflows
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
