Job Summary

Are you detail-oriented and enjoy working with technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're looking for an AOI Operator to join a forward-thinking electronics manufacturer in Shelby Township, MI. In this role, you’ll be essential in maintaining quality in electronic assemblies by setting up and operating Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems. If you have an eye for detail and a passion for electronics, this is a great opportunity!

What You'll Be Doing

As an AOI Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems to inspect products.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect electronic components and circuit boards for defects such as soldering issues or misplacements.
  • Reporting: Identify and categorize non-conformities and report findings for corrective action.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve minor technical issues with AOI equipment and ensure machines are clean, calibrated, and properly maintained.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain accurate inspection records, communicate results to quality teams, and work with production, engineering, and quality control teams to support goals.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in SMT electronics assembly.
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO-9001 manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Skills:
  • Strong Attention to Detail and visual inspection accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and inspection standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining AOI systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
