A Grand Haven manufacturer of plastic display cases and other custom furniture/retail ware is seeking an assembler on 1st shift. Will be working in the extrusion department assembling items with hand and power tools, and packaging these items for shipment. Other general cleaning duties may also be assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To have the ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallets, and hand trucks, banding tools, various hand tools and machines under close supervision.
2. To follow basic instructions whether written and/or oral from the supervisor and/or lead person.
3. To perform duties such as feed or tail material to or from machinery or work stations, assemble parts, clean up assemblies or fixtures, load or unload trucks as directed by the supervisor and/or lead man in charge of the tasks to be performed.
4. To accurately complete production and time reports as required.
ADJECTIVES DESCRIBING WORK & ENVIRONMENT :
Fast pace, repetitive, multiple functions, small to medium size parts
COMPETENCIES:
1. Ability to meet physical requirements for the job, lifting up to 50 lbs.
2. Ability to comprehend & interpret documents such as work instructions, safety procedures & operation procedures.
3. Ability to work in a team environment
SKILLS:
1. Previous industrial experience required
2. Problem solving skills
3. Communication skills
4. Basic Math skills
5. GED or HS Diploma required
6. Excellent clerical skills
**ADDITIONAL NOTES**
- Report to the door with metal awning (main entrance) and check in with receptionist
- Overtime will be held during with week either before and/or after the normal shift hours
- Warm work environment
