Job Summary
The Assembler is responsible for completing basic, manual tasks related to building HVAC units. Duties may include constructing subassemblies using hand tools, installing high-temp padding, and assisting in the installation of components such as fans, shafts, and dampers. After training, this position will begin building smaller HVAC units. It may take up to 6 months to learn all components of HVAC assembly.
Responsibilities for the Assembler Opening
- Communicate and interface with other departments to accomplish tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Apply and follow all applicable safety requirements
- Operate Hi-Lo and overhead crane equipment (training provided)
- Use hand tools to install insulation and build subassemblies
- Build/construct a steel box in which mechanical subassemblies will be installed
- Work overtime as required
Key Qualifications for Assembler Openings
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with construction, reading blueprints, and building units to specifications
- Dependable and punctual attendance
Preferred Skills for Assembler Openings
- Proficiency with small hand tools (wrenches, drills, pliers, etc.)
- Ability to climb and descend ladders up to 10’ in height
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, kneeling, climbing, bending, and crouching for extended periods
- Knowledge of safe work practices in a shop floor environment
