Assembly/Production Builder
Summary:
The Assembler is responsible for basic, manual tasks related to building (assembling) industrial HVAC units. Tasks can include building basic subassemblies using hand tools (wrenches, hammers, pliers and drills), installing high-temp padding (cut with retractable knife and/or using a simple spot welder), and assisting in installation of components for the unit (fans, shafts, dampers, etc.).
Experience:
Construction, using hand tools, readying blueprints, constructing/building a unit to specs.
Essential Functions:
- Interface and communicate with other departments to accomplish tasks.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements.
- Must be available for overtime.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Show operational proficiency with Hi-Lo equipment.
- Show operational proficiency with overhead crane equipment (can be taught).
- Use of hand tools to install insulation and build subassemblies.
- Building/constructing a steel box in which mechanical subassemblies will be installed in.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be dependable and on-time.
- Must be able to identify and work with small hand tools.
- Ability to climb and descend ladders (some 10’ in height).
- Lifting required (up to 50lbs).
- Work performed standing the majority of the time.
- Shop floor position, heated, not air-conditioned.
- This position must comply with all company policies & procedures.
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following demands: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
Schedule:
- 4 - 10 hour shift Monday through Thursday
- Day shift 6:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Overtime Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
