Assembly & Wiring Technician, $25–$35/hr – Madison Heights, MI
We are seeking a
mid-career Assembly & Wiring Technician
to support our clients growing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electronics assembly, wire harness troubleshooting, and manufacturing support, with the opportunity to contribute directly to innovative electric and hybrid vehicle projects.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in assembly and wiring for manufacturing or prototyping environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Familiarity with wire harness building and troubleshooting
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Technical certification preferred
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification a plus
- Experience with high-voltage systems, batteries, or electric/hybrid vehicles is a strong plus
- Familiarity with fabrication tools (cutting, welding, etc.) is a plus
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and assembling electronics boxes for prototype and production applications
- Assemble, route, crimp, and troubleshoot wire harnesses to ensure proper function and reliability
- Support engineering and design teams by providing hands-on wiring and assembly expertise
- Perform functional tests on completed assemblies and document results
- Troubleshoot and rework assemblies that fail testing or inspection
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to improve processes and efficiency
- Flex between tasks and projects as needed to support production and prototyping demands
This is a hands-on position for a skilled technician who enjoys problem-solving and contributing to cutting-edge projects in electric and hybrid vehicle technology.
