Brake Press Operator
Location: Portage, MI
Shift: 1st & 2nd shift
Pay: $18+ per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join a growing West Michigan manufacturer. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to produce high-quality metal parts.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Brake Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
● Setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal parts
● Reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings
● Adjusting machine settings, tooling, and back gauges for various production runs
● Inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances
● Maintaining equipment and work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition
● Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
● Minimum 2 years of experience operating and setting up brake press machines
● Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and blueprint reading
● Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
● Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
● Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime as needed
