Burner/Laser Operator – Entry Level (Level I)

Job Summary
A leading Muskegon manufacturer is seeking an Entry-Level Burner/Laser Operator (Level I) to join their team on 2nd Shift. In this role, you will be responsible for operating flame and laser cutting equipment to produce quality parts according to customer specifications. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing while gaining hands-on experience with industrial equipment and processes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Position the correct type and size of steel on burning and laser tables
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure quality and accuracy
- Remove finished steel and scrap materials from cutting equipment
- Perform In-Process Inspection Reports (IPIR)
- Follow work orders and production schedules to meet customer requirements
- Utilize the process scheduler to prioritize and complete tasks
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment as assigned
- Use hand grinders to clean and finish materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- High school diploma, training, and/or equivalent experience
- Ability to follow written instructions, blueprints, and drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
- Ability to use a hand grinder safely and effectively
- Lift truck and crane certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
- Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is helpful but not required
