Job Summary
We are seeking a Case Packer Operator to join our team in Sparta, MI. The operator will be responsible for efficiently running case packing equipment on their assigned production line. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a vital role in upholding food safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mechanical equipment and case packing machinery
- Keep the floor area clean and free of cardboard and bottles
- Perform inspections and request repairs as needed
- Ensure all packaging meets labeling and quality standards
- Work with quality personnel to prevent mixed cases during flavor changes
- Adhere to established safety procedures and food safety regulations
- Follow and maintain SQF (Safe Quality Food) program compliance
- Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance teams to address issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
- Minimum three years of mechanical experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods
- Comfortable working in environments with temperature changes, noise, and exposure to chemicals
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in food/beverage manufacturing
- Experience in a production or manufacturing setting
- Ability to train, direct, and coach team members
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
