Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Event Service Staff member to join our team and help ensure the smooth execution of our events. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up event spaces, greeting and serving guests, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and working collaboratively with the event team to deliver an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up event spaces according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffets, and service stations
- Greet guests warmly and provide professional, attentive service throughout the event
- Serve plated meals, beverages, and hors d’oeuvres according to Applause Catering standards
- Monitor guest needs and respond promptly and courteously
- Assist with buffet maintenance, food replenishment, and beverage service
- Clear tables and maintain a clean, organized event space during service
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Break down and clean up event spaces, returning equipment and supplies to proper storage
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members, supervisors, and event managers to ensure seamless event execution
Key Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, banquets, or hospitality is required (1 year minimum).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain professional and calm in fast‐paced environments.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules (evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Team‐oriented attitude with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Alcohol Safety Certification (Servesafe, TIPS or TAMS) (Preferred)
- Previous event set up and service experience
