Job Summary
Are you an experienced chemical blender looking for an opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Chemical Blender / Compounder responsible for setting up mixing tanks and blending equipment to support production operations. This role requires safely handling raw materials, following batch instructions, operating production equipment, and maintaining quality standards while contributing to continuous process improvements.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Chemical Blender / Compounder, your core responsibilities will include:
• Setting up and operating mixing tanks and blending machines according to batch work orders and mixing instructions.
• Supporting production lines by preparing blended materials in a timely and safe manner.
• Filling drums with blended products as needed.
• Operating mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, and other production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measuring and handling raw materials according to batch specifications.
• Communicating with material handlers to ensure proper material flow and availability.
• Sampling raw materials and preparing documentation for laboratory testing, including Certificates of Analysis and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Providing recommendations to the Blending Manager regarding process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed throughout the facility.
• Working independently while maintaining a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Setting up and starting all mixing tanks and blenders.
• Supporting production lines to maintain efficient workflow.
• Reviewing and understanding all batch documentation to ensure correct ingredients are used.
• Accurately adding chemicals and powders into blend tanks and ribbon blenders according to established formulas.
• Monitoring raw material usage and verifying correct weights and quantities.
• Ensuring returned raw materials are properly labeled, documented, and stored.
• Following laboratory instructions regarding sample logging, batch approvals, adjustments, and additional quality requirements.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience mixing and blending chemicals.
• Highly dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to think through minor problems and work with management to resolve larger issues.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to understand safety procedures, operating instructions, product recipes, and material identification requirements.
• Ability to safely manipulate and handle 55-gallon drums of chemicals.
• Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using weight and volume measurements.
• Valid forklift certification and ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
