Visual Inspector

Location: Troy, MI Shift:  1st (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Thursday) Pay:  $19/hr

Job Summary
Are you detail-oriented with a passion for quality? We're seeking a  Visual Inspector to join our team in Troy, MI. In this role, you’ll perform critical inspections on PCB assemblies and components for medical, industrial, and energy applications, ensuring compliance with high-quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a V isual Inspector, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Inspection: Perform visual inspections of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and solder joints using magnifiers or microscopes to meet IPC-A-610 and customer specifications.
  • Defect Identification: Identify and document defects such as solder bridges, misaligned or missing components, contamination, or insufficient solder.
  • Assembly Review: Inspect both surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole (THT) assemblies at various production stages.
    In addition, you will review drawings, BOMs, and work instructions, record inspection data, communicate nonconformities, verify reworked assemblies, maintain an organized ESD-safe inspection area, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience in PCB assembly, inspection, or related electronics manufacturing preferred
  • IPC-A-610 certification strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and quality documentation
  • Experience using microscopes and magnification tools
  • Solid communication skills and basic computer literacy
  • Familiarity with ESD procedures and safety protocols
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Frequent use of microscopes, magnifiers, and small hand tools
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs
Skills:
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure assemblies meet strict quality standards
  • Technical Accuracy: Interpret schematics, drawings, and inspection criteria effectively
  • Communication & Teamwork: Report defects and collaborate with leads and engineers to support quality initiatives
