Job Summary

Are you a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional looking to advance your career in precision measurement and quality control? We’re seeking a CMM Operator to join our team at Workbox Staffing. In this role, you’ll operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure manufactured parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. You’ll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to maintain accuracy, improve processes, and uphold a culture of excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

As a CMM Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Operating and programming CMMs to conduct dimensional inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Interpreting blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine measurement points, tolerances, and methods.
  • Setting up and calibrating CMM equipment, ensuring proper fixture and probe configurations.
  • Conducting inspections, collecting measurement data, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintaining equipment through routine maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Participating in audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in dimensional inspection or metrology.
  • Proven experience operating and programming CMMs.
  • Proficiency with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Metrolog XG.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SPC tools and statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Excel and related applications.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
