CMM Programmer
Location: Spring Lake, MI Shift: Pay: $25-30/hour
Job Summary
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in metrology and precision inspection? We’re seeking a CMM Programmer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect and verify the dimensional accuracy of metal, plastic, and machined parts, ensuring products meet exact engineering and quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing
As a CMM Programmer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Writing, testing, and optimizing CMM programs for part inspection using PC-DMIS software.
- Interpreting blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to determine inspection methods and tolerances.
- Operating and maintaining CMMs, portable scanners, and other measurement equipment to perform dimensional analysis.
- Inspecting metal, plastic, and machined components to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Analyzing measurement results, documenting inspection data, and reporting deviations to the quality team.
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve inspection processes.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Proven experience programming and operating CMMs in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and dimensional inspection methods.
Skills:
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS and CAD software.
- Experience with PolyWorks and portable scanning equipment.
- Ability to inspect and analyze metal, plastic, and machined parts accurately.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and precision.
