CNC Lathe Machinist, $24+/hr – Sterling Heights, MI
We are seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for our client who is
a small prototype and low-volume sheet metal manufacturer in Sterling Heights. They proudly produce precision parts for industries including Aerospace, Appliance, Automotive, Military, Medical, and Theater.
We are seeking a skilled
CNC Lathe Machinist
with experience on Doosan and FADAL CNCs, LYNX lathes, and Mastercam software. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in turning operations, tool management, and quality verification.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of CNC machining/lathe experience preferred
- 1+ year of Mastercam programming experience preferred
- Proficiency in CAM programming (Mastercam)
- Experience operating CNC lathe machines and making program offsets at the machine
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Knowledge of Doosan/Fanuc systems and PLCs
- Experience with manual lathes or basic CNC equipment a plus
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong eye for quality
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC lathes to produce precision-turned components per customer specifications
- Assist with setups, tool changes, and offsets as required
- Inspect finished goods to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
- Identify tooling needs and change accordingly to maintain production efficiency
- Troubleshoot issues and make adjustments to maintain quality
- Work with CUI materials for defense contracts, adhering strictly to security protocols
