CNC Machinist Location: Elkhart, IN Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday Pay: $25.00–$37.00/hour Job Summary We're looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join a team specializing in the production of custom tooling and fixtures. This position is responsible for setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision tooling and fixtures that meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading skills, 3-5+ years of experience, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision-machined components. What You'll Be Doing As a CNC Machinist, your core responsibilities will include: Operating CNC Machines: Set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture custom tooling and fixtures. Reading Blueprints and Technical Drawings: Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate machining and production. Inspecting Finished Parts: Use precision measuring tools to verify finished tooling and fixtures meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Making Machine Adjustments: Monitor machine performance, make tooling changes, and adjust machine offsets to maintain production accuracy. Maintaining Equipment: Perform routine machine maintenance and keep workstations clean, organized, and production-ready. Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to all company safety policies while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. In addition, you will troubleshoot machining issues, document production information, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to manufacture high-quality custom tooling solutions. What We're Looking For Qualifications Previous CNC machining experience required. 3-5+ Years of Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes. Blueprint reading experience is required. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Skills Precision Machining: Experience producing custom tooling, fixtures, and precision-machined components. Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications. Quality Inspection: Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to verify finished parts. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary machine adjustments. Safety Awareness: Commitment to following workplace safety standards and maintaining a clean work environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
