CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Programmer Location: Farmington Hills, MI Shift: First Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Pay: Competitive Pay (Based on Experience) per hour Job Summary Are you a motivated and detail-oriented CNC machining professional looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Programmer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our manufacturing operations, helping ensure quality production through expert CNC programming, setup, troubleshooting, and machining process improvements. What You'll Be Doing As a CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Programmer, your core responsibilities will include: Program, Set Up, and Operate CNC Equipment: Read programs, perform machine setups, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce quality parts efficiently. Troubleshoot and Optimize Processes: Identify and resolve machining, tooling, setup, and process issues while improving cycle times and productivity. Inspect and Verify Quality: Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished parts and ensure all dimensional and quality requirements are met. In addition, you will also be expected to select and adjust tooling, speeds, feeds, workholding, and machining sequences, perform tooling changes and fixture alignment, complete basic machine maintenance, and maintain a clean and organized work area while working closely with a small manufacturing team. What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have the following: Qualifications: Previous CNC mill and lathe programming and setup experience required Ability to independently complete machine setups and troubleshoot machining processes Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining tolerances Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Experience with Okuma machines and controls strongly preferred Skills: CNC Machining Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and manufacturing processes to support efficient production. Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and correct setup, tooling, and process-related issues while maintaining quality standards.
