Job Overview
Workbox Staffing is seeking a CNC Mill Operator to join a steel manufacturing team in Belmont, MI. In this role, you’ll set up, adjust, and operate a CNC Mill to finish plates to precise thicknesses. If you’re mechanically inclined and eager to learn, we’ll train you!
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC Mill to mill plate flat to specified tolerances
- Read and interpret part drawings, specifications, and milling instructions
- Select and change cutters as needed
- Use magnetic table, chucks, or clamps to secure workpieces properly
- Perform inspections using micrometers, indicators, and measuring tools
- Follow operating procedures with minimal supervision after training
- Collaborate with Shop Foreman and Shift Leaders
Qualifications & Competencies
- 1–2 years CNC Mill operation or Tool & Die experience preferred (but not required)
- Ability to read a micrometer and interpret measurements
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery
- Willingness to be trained and take direction
- Detail-oriented with a safety-first mindset
