Job Summary
This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routing equipment to produce high-quality signage components from various materials including acrylic, aluminum, wood, and composite panels. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC router machines based on CAD/CAM files and production specifications 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
  • Select appropriate materials, tooling, and machine settings for each job
  • Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines
  • Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to troubleshoot issues and improve workflow
  • Maintain accurate documentation of jobs, material usage, and machine logs
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Assist in inventory control of raw materials and tooling supplies
 
Key Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or CNC training preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating CNC routers in a manufacturing or signage environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of CNC machine operations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and G-code or CAM-generated programs
  • Familiarity with software such as VCarve, EnRoute, or similar CNC routing programs
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Basic computer literacy and math skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
 
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with materials used in sign fabrication (e.g., acrylic, aluminum, PVC)
  • Knowledge of sign industry standards and practices
  • Forklift certification
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or CorelDRAW
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
