. In this role, you’ll play a key part in setting up and operating CNC machines, producing high-quality parts, and keeping production running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
As a
CNC Set-Up Operator
, your core responsibilities will include:
- Setting up & operating CNC machines to produce quality parts while maintaining production levels.
- Loading programs , verifying offsets, and making minor adjustments as needed
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical or machining issues to keep machines running efficiently
- Performing routine maintenance, including basic cleaning, oiling, and general machine upkeep
In addition, you will stock machines with materials, change tools and inserts, read and interpret blueprints, use micrometers and calipers, and assist with other shop tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of CNC set up experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools (O.D. mics, I.D. mics, calipers)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Basic computer skills
Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude: Essential for diagnosing issues and maintaining machines.
- Quality focus: Ensures all produced parts meet customer and production standards.
- Strong communication & teamwork: A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
- Experience with Tsugami, HAAS, or FANUC controls is a strong plus.
