What You'll Be Doing
As a Composite Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
- Following all work instructions, lamination schedules, and quality procedures throughout each stage of production.
- Inspecting molds for defects or damage, cleaning surfaces, and applying release agents before use.
- Handling molds safely, including removal from ovens or autoclaves, and ensuring products are released without damage.
- Performing laminating operations per provided instructions — verifying correct materials, orientations, and layer counts while debulking between layers as required.
- Inspecting products for bag failures, bridging, and aesthetic defects, making necessary corrections to molds and completing all quality documentation.
- Bagging and preparing parts for oven or autoclave processing, inspecting for voids or punctures, and ensuring vacuum integrity.
- Assembling finished components and hardware according to sequence instructions, reporting any quality concerns to the Production Manager, and preparing completed products for shipment.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in composite manufacturing or laminating preferred.
- Understanding of vacuum bagging, curing, and composite material handling.
Skills:
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and quality documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct defects.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely handle molds and materials.
- Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-conscious work ethic.
