Cone Assembly / Swedge Operator
Location:  Potterville, MI 48876
Shift:  Mon-Thurs 5am-3:30pm 10 hour shifts
Pay:  $16.00 per hour

Job Summary
Are you a reliable and detail oriented individual looking for a hands on manufacturing role? We’re seeking a  Cone Assembly/Swedge Operator  to join our team in Potterville, In this position, you’ll play a key role in producing high quality cone components by operating a 75 ton press, assembling materials, and ensuring each finished product meets quality standards in a fast paced production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cone Assembly/Swedge Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Operating the 75 ton press  to form and assemble cone components.
  • Building cone assemblies  by placing the inner cone, insulation, and outer cone onto the die and cycling the press to create the finished product.
  • Running cinched cones  when assembly is not required.
  • Inspecting finished cones  to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Packing completed cones  into the correct packaging for shipment.
  • Performing routine checks and documentation , including first piece checks, 15 minute attribute checks, and completing tags.
  • Handling fiberglass-type materials  safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area  to support safety and efficiency.
  • Working independently and as part of a team  to meet production goals.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and move totes weighing  30 lbs.+ .
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to complete general paperwork and follow documentation requirements.
  • Comfortable handling fiberglass-type materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Dependable attendance and a solid work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with repetitive tasks.
Skills
  • Attention to Safety:  Critical when working with presses, fiberglass materials, and production equipment.
  • Teamwork & Communication:  Helps maintain workflow and coordinate with leads and team members.
  • Mechanical Awareness:  Useful for operating the press, understanding assembly steps, and identifying basic issues.
