Job Summary
Are you a skilled leader in residential construction looking for your next opportunity? We're seeking a Construction Superintendent
to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI.
In this role, you’ll oversee construction projects, manage subcontractors and skilled workers, and ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Construction Superintendent,
your core responsibilities will include:
- Project Oversight: Maintain daily records of project progress and home repair updates for the project manager and homeowners.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and report any issues promptly.
- Team Management: Supervise construction workers, conduct inspections, and provide guidance to ensure high-quality results.
In addition, you will collaborate with clients, analyze subcontractor productivity, manage on-site activities, order materials, coordinate deliveries, and oversee labor, materials, and inspections to maintain safety and quality.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Physically capable of using heavy equipment and lifting at least 40 pounds.
- Current general contractor license.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices, building codes, permits, equipment, materials, and project management principles.
- Strong organizational, leadership, time-management, and communication skills.
- Minimum 18 months of experience in construction, restoration, or renovations (3+ years preferred).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and reports.
- Ability to participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule.
- Experience with Xactimate is a plus.
Skills:
- Leadership & Management: Effectively guide teams and manage subcontractors to maintain high standards.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly address on-site challenges and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Communication: Coordinate effectively with clients, team members, and project managers.
