Job Summary
The Corn Cook plays a vital role in the preparation and processing of food ingredients by operating industrial cooking baths to prepare the corn for the tortilla chip process. This role is essential to maintaining product quality and consistency, by ensuring all activities meet company standards for safety, sanitation, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook corn according to established recipes and company standards
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure proper preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, cooking stations, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, rotation, and reporting of ingredients
Required Experience
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking for a minimum of 8-12 months, preferably in a batch cooking environment
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes, food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification a plus)
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and work with equipment safely
