Die Tryout - 2nd Shift - Up to $33.50/hr- Grass Lake, MI
Join our dynamic team as a Die Tryout Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our press operations. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the quality and safety of our die tryout processes.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret CMM data to determine the correct path to rectify issues.
Set up presses, both Straight side and toggle (dual action).
Understand tonnage requirements, air cushions, nitro cylinders, and die springs.
Utilize the SMIRT Die Shop program
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of die tryout techniques and troubleshooting.
Perform spotting and nesting trim changes.
Qualifications/Skills:
Journeyman card/certificate preferred or 8+ years equivalent experience
Experience with draw dies and line dies, including timing (cam/direct, etc.)
Welding skills (TIG/MIG).
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)
Must have own tools
Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
You will work automotive dies for changes, validations, FLD. Work with Program Managers, Foreman, and Leaders for product changes, and new builds to customer standards & requirements. Evaluate panels on checking fixtures to determine and troubleshoot proper path to correct out-of-tolerance items.
