Dispatcher
Location: Byron Center, MI
Shift: 6:45 am - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday
Pay: $20.00+ (based on experience)
Job Summary
Ready to take command of the day? Join our team and help drive efficiency in the pallet industry as our Dispatcher. In this vital role, you’ll coordinate daily pallet pickups, deliveries, and service routes while serving as the communication hub between drivers, customers, warehouse teams, and management. You’ll keep operations running smoothly by ensuring timely, accurate movement of materials and making quick, informed decisions in a fast‑paced logistics environment. We’re looking for someone highly organized, detail‑oriented, and confident under pressure to help deliver reliable, quality‑driven service to our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Dispatcher, your core responsibilities will include:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing instructions, updates, and support
• Review incoming orders and schedule pickups or deliveries based on customer needs and inventory availability
• Monitor driver locations, route progress, and delivery timelines throughout the day
• Respond to unexpected delays, traffic issues, or equipment breakdowns by rerouting or reallocating resources
• Coordinate with warehouse and yard teams to ensure client orders are staged, loaded, and ready for dispatch
• Prepare and distribute driver paperwork including load sheets and delivery instructions
In addition, you will also be expected to assist on the yard as needed to ensure timely and efficient delivery to all customers.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
• 1–3 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations
• Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS systems, and basic computer applications
• Experience in pallet recycling, pallet manufacturing, or related logistics industries is helpful
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance
• Familiarity with routing software or fleet management systems
Skills:
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions when needed
• Time management and prioritization
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
