2nd shift      M onday - Thursday   4  PM -  2 AM
 
The drawing tender is responsible for operating and maintaining the drawing frame machine. This machine is used to combine multiple slivers (loose bundles of fibers) into a single, thicker sliver, preparing the fibers for further processing like spinning into yarn. Drawing tenders ensure the machine runs smoothly, address any breaks or issues with the slivers, and maintain the overall quality of the process

  • Operating the Drawing Frame:
    Drawing tenders operate the drawing frame, which combines multiple slivers from the carding process into a single, thicker sliver. 
  • Maintaining the Machine:
    They ensure the drawing frame is running smoothly, addressing any mechanical issues or malfunctions. 
  • Managing Slivers:
    They monitor the slivers, identify and fix broken ends, and replace cans of sliver when they run out. 
  • Ensuring Quality:
    Drawing tenders play a role in maintaining the quality of the sliver, which directly impacts the quality of the final yarn and fabric. 
  • Adjusting Settings:
    They may need to adjust the machine's settings, such as speed and tension, to ensure the sliver is produced to the correct specifications. 
 
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Communicating with Team Leader on Quality Assurance
  • Keep up with the production pace throughout the shift
  • Eye for quality attention to detail Reliability Must understand and maintain written records and documentation (daily activity)
  • Must be    reliable & professional 
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. throughout the shift
  • Ability to perform very repetitive motions
  • Ability to stand for 10 hours. Some stations have sit-down desks
