Engineering Technician

Location: Elkhart, IN

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support quick-turn prototype and production operations in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for AOI programming and operation, SMT machine operation, board testing, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will be organized, mechanically inclined, and able to meet tight customer deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.

Starting Pay: $18.00/hour, with higher compensation available for candidates with advanced skills and relevant experience.
 
Shift: 1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Program and operate AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment

  • Operate SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machines and related production equipment

  • Support efficient and high-quality production of quick-turn prototypes

  • Test, inspect, and troubleshoot circuit boards after component placement

  • Perform board repairs as needed

  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure all equipment remains operational

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Complete additional assignments as directed by leadership

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Experience with AOI programming and SMT operation preferred

  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic components and circuitry

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with programming concepts required

  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and minor repairs

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as needed
