Job Title: 1st Shift – Fabrication Welder (Some Travel Required)

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Workbox Staffing is hiring a skilled 1st Shift Fabrication Welder for a great opportunity with a local fabrication shop in Fort Wayne. This is a small, laid-back (not lazy!) operation that specializes in building large industrial equipment and then traveling across the USA to assemble it on-site in factories. This is the perfect role for a welder who wants to use their skills in the shop and see the country while on installs. You bring the helmet, hand tools, and a strong work ethic, we will supply the career.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Fabrication Welder, your core responsibilities will include:
- Perform MIG and STICK welding for the majority of your shift to fabricate large industrial equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints to produce a quality product that meets exact specifications.
- Operate and assist with shop equipment, including brake presses, laser, and plasma cutters.
- Assist with general metal fabrication tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Travel periodically throughout the USA to assist with on-site assembly and installation of finished equipment.
- In addition, you will also be expected to demonstrate excellent attendance, work collaboratively as a part of the team, and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with MIG and STICK welding.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints.
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication environment.
- Must be willing and able to travel for out-of-state installations.
- Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset.
- Must supply your own welding helmet and hand tools.
Skills:
- Ability to follow directions and stay on task with little supervision.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a small team.
