Job Summary
Are you an experienced welder who takes pride in precision and craftsmanship? We’re seeking a Fitter-Welder to join a family-owned fabrication company in Fort Wayne, IN where you’re more than just a number. In this role, you’ll build custom specification-based products used in the foundry industry, ensuring every weld and fit-up meets strict structural standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Fitter-Welder, your core responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints: Accurately build to customer specifications to ensure structurally sound finished products.
- Fitting and fabricating components: Measure, align, and assemble metal parts prior to welding for proper structural integrity.
- MIG and TIG welding: Perform high-quality welds that meet required strength and durability standards.
In addition, you will also inspect completed welds and assemblies to verify quality and compliance with specifications before final production stages.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a MIG/TIG Welder and Fitter
- Strong blueprint reading and fabrication skills
- Experience building custom, specification-based products
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Skills
- Blueprint Reading: Critical for building to exact customer and structural specifications.
- Fit-Up & Fabrication Expertise: Ensures components are properly aligned and structurally sound before welding.
- Welding Precision: Ability to produce clean, strong welds that meet industry and foundry-use standards.
