Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 1st Shift Pay: $15.29–$17.00 per hour
Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to provide nutritious meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Food Service Worker, your core responsibilities will include:
● Food Preparation: Prepare meals according to menus and approved recipes, ensuring quality and consistency for students and staff.
● Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a sanitary, well-organized kitchen by cleaning work areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
● Meal Service: Serve food promptly and assist cafeteria lines to ensure smooth and efficient distribution.
In addition, you will also be expected to monitor inventory, record production data, and follow all USDA, health, and safety procedures to maintain compliance and quality.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or GED preferred
● Previous catering or food service experience helpful
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
● ServSafe certification may be required
Skills:
● Attention to Detail: Ensures food quality, accurate portioning, and proper labeling.
● Organization: Maintains inventory and keeps work areas clean and efficient.
●
Teamwork: Works collaboratively with other kitchen staff and supervisors to meet daily meal schedules.
