Job Title Food Service Worker Location Grand Rapids, MI Pay $15.29 - $17.00/hr Shift School Year Position – 38 weeks Job Summary: Seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present, and serve meals for students, staff, and special events. In this role, you will follow recipes, maintain food quality, ensure proper storage, and keep accurate records while meeting service schedules. The ideal candidate will have food service experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities: ● Prepare food according to menus and approved recipes, using proper portioning guides. ● Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, and supplies. ● Lift, carry, and move food and supplies up to 50 lbs; stand for long periods. ● Review daily menus and inventory, gather ingredients, and rotate stock. ● Serve food on schedule and assist cafeteria lines as needed. ● Record production data and ensure compliance with USDA and local health regulations. ● Communicate and coordinate with team members, Food Service Director, and van drivers for smooth operations. ● Follow safety, health, and emergency procedures; complete assigned training. Qualifications: ● High school diploma or GED preferred. ● Previous catering or food service experience helpful. ● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods. ● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. ● Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.
